Mountains are created to be conquered

The experienced mountain climber is not intimidated by a mountain - he is inspired by it. The persistent winner is not discouraged by a problem - he is challenged by it. Mountains are created to be conquered; adversities are designed to be defeated; problems are sent to be solved. It is better to master one mountain than a thousand foothills.  ~ William A. Ward

  1. An experienced mountain climber has 'face the fear' and done it anyway. They are used to mountains so they hold no fear for them in general. Obviously there are risks and new challenges but they know they've got through similar things before. The fear is something they expect and are used to. They stare it in the face, acknowledge it and get on with what they need to do.
